Tribal Minerals Development
An introduction to the legal and technical aspects of hardrock mineral development. The seminar explores geologic environments, the nature of ore deposits, exploration methods, and the exploration, development, and production phases of mineral development agreements, including prospecting permits, leases and joint ventures. Mining regulations, environmental regulation and protection, and taxation of reservation mineral enterprises are also discussed. This workshop has been presented to the Papago and Colville Tribes and was developed for the Institute for Development of Indian Law of the Indian Legal Curriculum and Training Program. Two days.
